Project

UP Express

The Task

While Toronto’s Union Station was undergoing extensive renovations, commuters found it challenging to locate the new UP Express terminal. UP Express needed clear, eye-catching signage to break through the renovation clutter and guide passengers to the platform. Envision was hired to come up with a cohesive solution that would require multiple layers of involvement and approval from hotels, corporate offices and GO Transit.

The Result

We designed a clear path to the UP Express terminal from the York Street Bridge entrance and the Skywalk, connecting Rogers Centre to Union Station. We developed, produced and installed a family of signs all consistent with UP Express’ brand standards and with the requirements of the public space. We created an illuminated branded exterior sign for the building’s heritage façade. Throughout the project, we seamlessly coordinated all stakeholder approvals, and delivered the work on budget and on time.

I would like to express my gratitude to each of you for your contribution through the many stages of this project. The integration of our UP Express logo with the heritage value of the building, in compliance with the signage bylaws, is making quite a positive impression inside and outside our organization.
