Project

Western University Faculty of Engineering

The Task

The Faculty of Engineering engaged Envision to design, fabricate and install a signature donor wall in the atrium of their new building, which officially opened on October 12, 2018. The intention of the new wall is to communicate to current students Western University’s Faculty of Engineering’s ThreeC+ message: Connect, Collaborate and Create, while recognizing the generous alumni whose donations have made the construction of the new engineering building possible.

The Result

A key point of Envision’s strategy was to create an element of interest that will attract students and faculty to the donor wall. Our final design seamlessly fits within the environment, but is uniquely differentiated through the use of physical forms and materials. The wall is made up of curved brushed stainless steel panels with acid etched lettering, mounted to a powder coated steel wall support structure and steel fabricated alignment chassis. These structural elements sit in front of a seamless scrim backdrop with programmable RGB controlled LED projection lighting.
